DOGS ADOPTED : 732
Out of the blue a friend forwarded me an email about a dog being fostered by someone at work. His adorable face and story hooked me immediately and I had to meet him. He was a timid little guy, but within minutes he was asleep in my lap and I knew it was the right decision to adopt him. His foster mom filled me in on his personality, his story, and gave me an honest assessment of his challenges--his weariness of people due to his unfortunate living situation prior to being rescued by Jake's Wish. Poor little guy was found, along with his sister, in a hoarder's home with 70 other dogs. I can't imagine what he had to endure so early on in life. It's been a little over a month since I adopted Otto and he's brought so much joy, not just to me, but to all the people in my life--my co-workers, my friends and my family. I can't thank Jake's Wish enough for the work they do and for bringing this delightful little spirit to me. Jake's Wish is an amazing organization. Everyone I worked with during the adoption process was helpful, thoughtful and genuinely passionate about helping dogs find their forever homes. Thank you, Jake's Wish!

It had been almost 9 months since I had to say goodbye to my 14 year old pointer mix. Even after all that time it wouldn't take much to move me to tears just thinking about him.
We knew it was time to add to our family again but we weren't actively looking anywhere. It was a Thursday evening, my daughter suggested we look at ads on Craigslist. Soon enough we came across a series of ads that were from Jakes Wish and several pups from one litter. Each one was absolutely adorable but the minute we clicked on the 3rd photo I pointed to it and said "There she is!"
After filling out the application we found ourselves on our way to meet her the following day. All it took was one paw on my knee and a nuzzle hug into my neck and it was a done deal. I smiled on the way home as she lay quietly in our arms in the back seat. She already felt like part of the family.
This little girl greets people, animals, and new adventures with such a fun and gentle personality! We plan on raising her to be a Therapy Dog, visiting nursing homes and hospitals.
We want to thank Jake"s Wish, Heidi, and all the foster families for all they provide for these dogs. Their compassion and heart really do have a big impact and change lives for the dogs, and the people they go home with . We couldn't imagine a day now without Sundae .
