Samantha is a 12-16 week old German Shepherd dog that we were asked to take by her previous owners who like many love the look and idea of a GSD but are not prepared to put in the time and dedication to training such a large breed puppy. Thankfully the family realized it while Samantha is still young. Samantha is a fun loving puppy. It is clear that she was not properly socialized as she hides when new people come into the house and isn’t sure about dogs that are bigger than her. The first two days in her foster home and Samantha is already running and playing with her Canine foster sister like they have been life long BFF’s. In her foster home she lives with teenage kids that she adores and dogs from 2 pounds to 40 pounds. We will be looking for a family that has experience with the GSD breed, are dedicated to training and continued socialization and have a active lifestyle. A bored large breed puppy is a destructive one so Samantha will need physical and mental activities to keep her healthy and happy. Samantha is crate trained and is working on potty training in her foster home. She could easily join a canine sibling and would actually prefer that so she can learn from them.
