Our sweet Josie is ready to pack her bags and find a permanent place to hang her harness! When this little girl was found in the desert we weren’t sure she would make it. Both of her front legs were broken, she was skin and bones and badly dehydrated. Unable to walk or find shelter her first miracle was being found before wildlife got to her and her 2nd miracle was becoming a Jake’s Wish pooch. When our friends at the Monterey shelter called and asked for our help we knew we had to move fast. Foster was found and an appointment was made with the orthopedic surgeon at MedVet Silicon Valley. Josie was evaluated and underwent a big surgery the very next day to fix her fractures. 2 plates and 13 pins later and she was on the mend. Now 7 weeks later we have a sweet baby girl that will make some lucky family an amazing pal. Josie walks and plays as if nothing ever happened to her. A squeaky toy provides hours of entertainment and her canine foster siblings offer a good game of chase. At first meet of new dogs Josie is a little fearful but it’s not long before she’s snuggled up to the once stranger asking for little playtime. So what is her perfect home?? Well at 7-8 pounds this slender girl would like a walk a couple times a day but active hiking is not needed. Another dog her size in the house would be great but she is a little intimidated by the large pooches. She will need a family that is willing to let her take it slow and trust on her own terms but once she does she will snuggle up next to you and honker down for a Saturday marathon of your favorite Netflix show. If there are children in the home they should be over 8 years old because even though Josie is sweet and loving she is shy and would not do well with a tail pulling toddler in the house. When SIP orders are lifted she could easily go to the office with you and is even small enough to be your carry on on the airplane so she can join you in all your adventures.
